W&L Career Services --  There are many opportunities currently available through the Career Services at W & L. Please contact Beverly Lorig, Katherine Cox or Suzanne Wade at 458-8595. 

Office Hours:  Monday and Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.;  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Appointments:  Employment Advising Appointments (30 minute);  Need a review of your cover letter, resume or writing sample? (15-30 minutes); Quick Questions Drop-in times for a quick question:  Monday - Friday, 10-11 and 2-3; Practice Interviews: Videotaped practice interview (1 hour)

UVA's Educators Expo, Thursday and Friday, February 8 & 9, 2007. 

On Thursday, February 8 (Job Fair Portion: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm) and Friday, February 9 (Interview Portion: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm), over 100 public and private/independent schools will be coming to UVA's Newcomb Hall (3rd
floor) to meet and interview teaching, counseling, SLP and administration candidates for their openings (2007-2008), both summer and full-time. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates to meet many recruiters in one
place. Employers from VA, NC, WV, GA, FL, DC, MD, DE, PA, NJ, NY, CO and other nationally (3 educator placement agencies) and internationally (Peace Corps) oriented opportunities will be in attendance.  Most
private/independent school and some public schools do not require certification or will provisionally certify for some subject areas of high demand.

The event is free for candidates--just sign in at the registration desk at the event. Candidates must attend the 2/8 portion to be able to schedule interviews for the 2/9 portion unless able to do so in advance of theevent--see web site for more details.
