Washington and Lee

                      Teacher Education

Welcome to the Washington and Lee University Teacher Education website. Washington

and Lee offers numerous opportunities for students to familiarize themselves with the field

of education. Whether students take one of the education courses offered at Washington

and Lee or decide to obtain their Virginia Licensure through a combination of education

courses at Washington and Lee University, Virginia Military Institute, and

Mary Baldwin College, there are a number of possibilities for students to experiment with

the idea of becoming a teacher.

Washington and Lee Teacher Education recommends that any students with an interest

in education meet with a member of the Teacher Education faculty/staff. Optimally,

students interested in obtaining their Teaching License should begin taking classes in

Teacher Education during their sophomore year, but there are many approaches to

entering the teaching profession so do not hesitate to speak with us if you are a junior or

senior.

We look forward to working with all students interested in the field of education and giving all students the chance to become a teacher.
